Yesterday I loaded a box with 1000 LIVE crickets in it. Viewing window and everything. Sending a box full of bugs to an automated processing center where machines will be handling the box 60% or so of the time is a TERRIBLE IDEA for obvious reasons. I was hoping that would be the first and last time I see a box like that, but probably not because apparently anyone can order live insects on amazon!
Listen. I am a hardworking dedicated person, but I have a limit. If I see boxes of roaches, wasps, and snakes come down that bloody chute, I’m out.

How bad is it working for an amazon warehouse?
You know you’re doing the lords work right?

May 27th, I'd say guaranteed that might be for a senior prank at some unsuspecting HS

I order worms from amazon. Significantly cheaper than picking them up from the local nurseries. Always chuckle when imagining a box getting busted in process leading to a giant writhing mass of biology flopping onto the floor or a ton of wigglers getting all jammed up in rollers and hoppers or whatever. I imagine it wouldn’t be the oddest thing they’d have to deal with, but it’d certainly be a story for dinner.

Apparently you can in a Asian market in LA. I vaguely remember seeing a news report about it a couple years ago lol

I’ve seen people recommend buying big packs of useful insects to help your garden.
